As the global race to 6G accelerates, there is an urgent need for highly efficient, reliable, and scalable multiple access (MA) schemes capable of meeting its diverse requirements.

RETHIN6G proposes a fundamental rethinking and redesign of next-generation MA. At its core lies the innovative integration of Rate-Splitting (RS) and Sparse Code Multiple Access (SCMA) (RS-SCMA) to unlock additional performance gains beyond current capabilities.

Emphasis is placed on showcasing the advantages of the technology in high-mobility broadcast scenarios. RETHIN6G will deliver critical insights to inform ETSI ISG contributions on MA technologies, accelerate UK leadership in 6G research, and reinforce the nation’s academic and economic position on the global stage.
