Tongyun Li is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge. He received his PhD from the Centre for Photonic Systems in the Electrical Engineering Division of the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, where he also serves as a Research Associate. His research focuses on photonic technologies, digital signal processing, and their integration in next-generation communication systems and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

My research is dedicated to advancing cost-effective and eco-friendly solutions in the realms of Radio Frequency (RF) and Photonic systems. It aims to propel the development of Radio Access Networking (RAN) and the Internet of Things (IoT). Specific areas of focus within this research include Analogue and Digital Radio over Fibre (RoF), RF signal processing, optical front-haul architectures, photonic switching systems, optical wireless networking, Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC), IoT physical layers, and radio frequency identification (RFID), among other related topics.
